This was a comfortable house in a spectacular position with far reaching views. The building work is still continuing on the property directly in front so be prepared for a bit of noise and disruption during the daytime. After 5months of lockdown this provided a great holiday base for three generations of the family.

Lovely house and furnishings felt at home straight away. Shame about building noise and dust opposite, no lazy lie ins or sitting on patio until evening. Once this is finished will be perfect, such a fantastic spot.

Absolutely delightful cottage and place to stay, gorgeous, friendly village and surrounds. After the challenge of the drive In to Polruan and Trebarfoote it really made you feel that you had found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

We were not told of the construction work in progress on the adjacent property. We were awakened every weekday morning at 8am by heavy machinery, drilling, excavations and reversing sirens. We had to vacate the property for 8 hours a day to get peace and quiet. We were looking forward to taking breakfast and lunch on the lovely terrace.

Trebarfoote is a lovely house and we enjoyed our stay. We would love to go back when the builders have gone. I should emphasise that the owners are not responsible for this. It was just unfortunate.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
