Ember Cottage has been renovated to a luxury standard in the past year. The cottage is perfectly located on Fore Street, at the centre of Polruan village and at the bottom of the dreaded hill - meaning no long walks home from the bakery, local shop, cafe, village pubs and ferry - all of which are only a few steps from the front door. The cottage sleeps 4-5people across three bedrooms (2 double bedrooms and 1 single bed in 'the den'). When you enter the cottage guests will immediately be surprised by the size of the large open-plan living and dining room which includes a purpose-built window seat looking out on to bustling Fore Street.
Open plan living room/ dining room- Beautifully refurbish living area with 3 seater leather sofa and leather chair, TV with Freeview and DVD player. Large dining table with seating for 6 people with direct access to the kitchen making cooking and eating as a group really easy.
Kitchen- The modern kitchen includes a high-quality induction hob, a cooker, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, DAB radio with IPOD dock, fridge-freezer, and a separate wine fridge. Back door gives you access to the back garden.
Bathroom 1- Accessed via 6 steep steps up from the kitchen. Brilliantly modern family bathroom with underfloor heating, Hand basin, WC and a bath with a power shower overhead.
FIRST FLOOR -
Bedroom 1- Double bedroom (4'6) 2 bed side tables, floor full length mirror, wardrobe. This bedroom is decorated in a fresh monochrome style, with luxury finishing touches.
Bathroom 2/En suite - Large double power shower, with rainwater shower-head, WC, Hand basin and heated towel rail.
'The Den/ Snug Room'- With day-bed and television this room makes a cosy single bedroom for additional guest (total of 5 guests) or a chill-out room. Access to the master bedroom is through this room via steep staircase in the Snug room.
SECOND FLOOR -
Bedroom 2 & Open plan Bathroom - Master Double bedroom (4'6), chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, and full length mirror. Bathroom area with WC, hand basin, towel rail and Freestanding bath with hand held shower head, makes the ultimate centre-piece to the open-plan bathroom. From the bath you have a beautiful view across the river, giving this bedroom the ultimate 'wow factor'.
Garden/ Outside Space - The Garden/ Patio is accessed from the back door located in the kitchen, the garden is also accessed via steps and slopes.
Parking- NO Private Parking. Parking is available from the St Savours and Quay car parks around 500yds from the cottage. Weekly tickets can be purchased for both carparks for £25.00.
Changeover Day- Saturday Changeover is preferred, however can be flexible. Arrival - 4:00pm Departure- 10:00am
Security Deposit- £100.00 Refundable Deposit required on all bookings.
Power and Heat- Electricity and Heating included in the rental price. Centrally heated throughout with underfloor heating in all of the three bathrooms and in the kitchen.
Bedding and Towels- Bed Linen and Towels are provided. You will need to bring your own beach towels.
Pet Friendly- No, pets are sadly not accepted.
Notes- No Smoking, No Pets, there are a number of steep steps up to the property. Inside the property the doorways are narrow. Families with small children should consider that there are steep stairs up to the bathroom on the ground-floor, as well as steep and narrow stairs from 'the den' to the top-floor bedroom - young children will need to be supervised at all times. People who have mobility difficulties also may find the layout of the house a challenge.
