Fantastic location and views of the harbour with better weather you would have thought we were in the Mediterranean! My daughter loved the day bed. Great quirky cottage, beautiful views in a lovely little hilly village. We really enjoyed our stay as did our daughters and our dogs. Whilst this property is in a great location in terms of the fabulous views, the accessibility (lots of - steep! - steps) and its proximity to the car park should not be underestimated!

Comfy bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen, amazing estuary views and we loved being able to bring our dinghy and moor it close by. All in all a fantastic base for our holiday.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views across the estuary to Fowey. Amazing coastal walks. The Hall walk is a must do as it takes in some great views. However, unfortunately I would not recommend the cottage for anyone unstable on their foot (old people/small children) as the steps are extremely steep and can become slippery when raining. Waterside Cottage is just gorgeous, the view from the balcony to Fowey is stunning whether the weather is good or (as in our case) tipping it down with rain. The 2 local pubs are literally just down the hill, we dined out 4 times and enjoyed every meal. The passenger ferry is fabulous for exploring Fowey. Beautiful cottage nestled amongst the houses in polruen. A terrific view over the estuary to Fowey . Very peaceful and relaxing. The cottage has everything you need which is great, so you dont have to carry it all from the car. Brian (our dog) slept peacefully every night.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
