Prophets House is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is very light and airy with a small outside sunny patio. It is well positioned; buses to Fowey, trains from Par to St Ives to mention a few and walks to Par beach, supermarket and chip shop. We found this to be an excellent property.

We loved our holiday and felt extremely comfortable in our cottage with our two dogs. The owners had thought of everything, we were so pleased, dog beds , towels , bowls etc. It was a great location for discovering Cornwall as this was our first time here! The scones , jam and cream were a lovely touch and milk in the fridge when we arrived! The beRead mored linen was extremely clean in fact everything was , there were fresh flowers in a vase ! Lovely! We found the cottage very comfortable and well equipped would be a real struggle for anyone with mobility problems though perhaps should be made more clear the amount of steps to get up to it not a problem for us but could be for others

Very quiet and comfortable and perfectly located - the owners provide suggestions, reviews and maps of the many walks and other things you can do close by. They also provide everything you could probably need - you only need to pack clothes and toiletries; there is a large Coop 5 minutes away. Good selection of books about Cornwall and DVDs

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
