Enjoy relaxing in this country retreat in the heart of Yorkshire moorland, the open-plan studio style space provides the ultimate social accommodation to take a relaxing break with a loved one.

Situated in a small hamlet in the North York Moors, being approx. 8 miles North of Kirkbymoorside, there are 600 square miles of stunning, heather-coated countryside waiting to be discovered by foot or by car. Within the National Park, there are also plenty of picturesque market towns and villages with tearooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. There's a variety of independent shops, pubs and restaurants to explore in the popular market towns of Helmsley and Pickering. Local attractions include Duncombe Park, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard. You could also head to Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast, slightly further afield. Hutton le Hole, approximately 6 miles away, boasts gift shops, pubs, the Ryedale Museum and is ideal for walkers. Visit the Rosedale Valley, home of Rosedale Abbey and the renowned glass blowing factory.         

Step inside the spacious open-plan studio style living space and let the beauty surround you. The huge, high ceilings make the accommodation feel spacious and light, while the eclectic and elegant soft furnishings, accompanied by a few industrial-style touches, bring a mixture of  warm and cosy, with a hint of contemporary to the whole, unique space. The kitchen area provides everything you need to rustle up a special meal for a loved one such as electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. There is a dining table to enjoy a romantic dinner for two and you can relax and snuggle up on the comfortable sofa and chairs nestled around the warming wood burner and Smart TV. Get a good night’s rest in the ornate, antique double bed which benefits from the nearby bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.

Outside, the enclosed garden overlooks the beautiful rolling countryside that surrounds you. There is a patio area with seating, perfect to sit and enjoy a chilled drink on a summer's evening with good company. There is off-road parking for two cars.

The old school has been totally refurbished inside with a tasteful kitchen and bathroom with large tub and stand alone shower. it has a mix of modern and antique furniture, the brass bed is amazing. There is an enclosed garden with lawned area which is ideal for a dog. There are a few walks from Low Mill and there are a couple of Ordnance Survey boRead moreoks in the property showing these and meany more. A great property in a beautiful location. The compact and open plan nature of the property is ideal for a couple, with all of the facilities and equipment that makes it easy (dishwasher, washing machine etc.). Walking and cycling from the doorstep is all lovely - with a pub at the end of one of the shorter (but very attractive) local walks. Whilst Read moreyou're remote from shops, the welcome pack gave us everything that we needed to settle ourselves and there's plenty available within a short drive. Hide

A beautiful location and a very well equipped holiday home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here a lovely welcome hamper of locally produced goodies was a lovely touch lovely garden to sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy the views too after a day out exploring. We visited Roseberry Topping, Yarm, Northallerton, Robin Hood Bay and the seal colony Read moreat Ravenscar also did the daffodil walk several times beautiful. Brilliant little bolt hole. We loved it. Exceptionally well equipped and designed very cosy. Great location. Would return to the property and the area Some may find the bed a bit on the soft side otherwise perfect!

A stunning house, we loved just staying in one room. Feels spacious and light but also cosy. Actually feel like I could properly relax as everything we needed was there. It is a drive away from the shops but we stocked up and settled in!

Great character cottage in a really nice village location. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable living area all underfloor heated. The old tin school cottage is an excellent base for exploring the North Yorkshire moors park and coast and would highly recommend if you intend to explore this area of Yorkshire.

The perfect location for a romantic getaway - gorgeous views, a secluded patio, plenty of good, varied walking from the door and a lovely space to relax in. The cottage was fabulous if you don't mind the bed being in the same living space as everything else (we hadn't expected that so were a bit surprised). It's also called East View (not the Old TRead morein School) which caused a bit of confusion. A fabulous place, high spec, clean and we had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Hide

The Old Tin School is a fabulous away from it all cottage. The views from the patio over the moors are breathtaking. The cottage is very well equipped to a very high standard and has everything you could want for a great holiday. It was spotlessly clean. The owners left us an excellent welcome pack. Lots of lovely pretty villages to visit nearby anRead mored York, Harrogate, Scarborough and Whitby are all less than an hours drive away. Would definitely recommend a stay here. Hide

The Old Tin School House could be unique. It is in a stunning location with beautiful views in a tiny hamlet of Low Mill. As soon as you walk into the school house you realise that someone with a very good eye has properly reworked this space. Although the living and sleeping areas are all in the one room it feels cosy and almost spacious. Heating Read moredifficult to control and boiler rather noisy. Our stay was one of the pleasantest, most tranquil stays ever experienced . The views were stunning . The open plan suited us right down to the ground , everywhere was spotlessly clean ,and all the equipment etc was extremely top quality . Great location for walks and visiting neighbouring villages. Helmsley in particular is a beautiful little village, with lovely independent shops and cafes. The scenery is spectacular whatever the weather and the fully equipped kitchen meant we could take full advantage of the local produce and eat in the cottage. We would also highly recommend The Read moreStar Inn, which is less than 20 minutes from the cottage if you do want to eat out. Hide

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark.
