The cottage is in a great location in the heart of Polruan, but it's a good idea to make sure the coast is clear when driving down or up the very narrow, steep hill as there are no passing places. The view from the window seat was lovely. It gets a little noisy in the mornings as Polruan wakes up. The cottage was just about big enough for a family Read moreof four but wouldn't recommend it for very small children due to the number of wood and tiled stairs throughout. Overall, the place offers good value Hide

This is an excellent cottage in a brilliant location in Polruan. It is right in the centre and only seconds from the Harbour, Ferry and pubs and shops. Well equipped, clean and spacious. By necessity it's quite tall and narrow so the stairs are steep and might be unsuitable for small children or those with mobility issues. Polruan is a typical pretRead morety Cornish village. Very narrow roads. Parking is at the top of the village so again it's very steep and may not be suitable for some people. Hide

This is a striking conversion of the old bakery with the sitting and main bedroom areas being particularly light filled and attractive. The cottage is cosy and has all modern conveniences. Wi-fi was good and the kitchen is very well-equipped. The position of the cottage, so near to the quay, ferry to Fowey, pubs and village shop is ideal. I found iRead moret peaceful and slept well. I very much enjoyed my stay here and would love to return in the future. Hide

The Old Bakery is a lovely quirky property. Well equipped and pleasantly furnished. It was a little smaller than anticipated. Location is handy for, shop, pubs and ferry. But can also be a little noisy - I know you wouldn't think it in Polruan. Ideal if you don't mind getting up at the crack of dawn, but with delivery vans from 7.30 am, a working DRead moreock and traffic constantly turning around, we will stay further up the hill next time. A good property in a fantastic location for the ferry, coast paths and pubs/restaurants. The property itself is small but well equipped. The welcome pack of tea, fudge and shortbread was a nice touch. There are only storage heaters so can feel cold, particularly when we arrived and we felt like it hadn't been occupied for a while as it was quite duRead moresty and damp. The cushions, blankets and sofa are a bit tired and worn. Overall we enjoyed our stay but felt some improvements could be made. Hide

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark.
