This is a very comfortable and easy cottage to stay in. We enjoyed the sense of home that has been created. The person who looks after the cottage was very helpful. We would definitely come again. You must have good strong knees for climbing up and down the hill!

Well equipped house but the front bedroom is very damp. The majority of the windows are locked shut without any keys to open them. The village shop gets 10 out of 10. Very small but well stocked and helpful staff. The shop catered for vegetarian, vegan and the dog.

Tean is a great cottage - plenty big enough for the 7 of us - we even had a spare bed. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment, the rooms were spotless. We arrived and there was a Christmas tree set up, lights and stockings ready for Santa. Was a lovely surprise. Thanks Polruan Cottages and Holiday Cottages for a memorable Christmas.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
