We all had a wonderful holiday at the summer cottage at Polruan. We will all be back next year to visit as we all did not want to come back home. All the villagers and pubs are so welcoming and friendly and the kids loved swimming in the harbour every day, with fantastic walks for all the family including our dog Mac who loved the holiday too.

Summer Cottage is a perfect location in the heart of Polruan. The decking at the top of the garden overlooks the harbour and is perfect to sit out with a morning coffee. The house is cosy and homely and the beds are comfy. We also loved the sofas! The children were particularly happy with decent WiFi. We would definitely book this cottage again.

We loved staying at this cottage. It was very cosy and stylish with some lovely creative features. We liked the space and enjoyed the enclosed garden with view. It felt a very welcoming home and was extremely convenient for the few shops and pubs in Polruan alongside being 2 minutes from the Quay. Fantastic

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
