We stayed for a couple of nights and it is a perfect spot for exploring Cranbook and the area around it. The appartment has everything you need and the owner is very helpful. We took our dog and there was plenty of space for all of us. It feels very spacious for an appartment. Although there is no outside space you can cut through the car park oppoRead moresite and go straight into the local nature reserve for easy dog walks. Hide

We really enjoyed our three-night stay in this apartment, which was well placed for the village and the many tourist attractions nearby. The kitchen is very well-equipped, the bathroom modern with a lovely powerful shower and the bed and bedding providing a good night's sleep. In the cool January evenings we lit the log fire and relaxed on the big Read moresofas. Hide

Well equipped property, lovely welcome pack and an excellent host. Cranbrook is a lovely village, we had dinner in the local hotel several times and it was always good. Larkins Ale House is a must visit if you like Ale, excellent fresh beer.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
