The village offers a quiet, but not isolated location, to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Unusually the village still has church, chapel, pub, butchers, general store and chip shop. There is a wonderful guided mosaic walk around Dallow gill and moor with wonderful views across to the the North York Moors.
