This fabulous family friendly property has been fitted and furnished in a contemporary country style, boasts access to a shared indoor heated pool and is perfectly placed for touring the whole of North Devon.

Head towards the coast and visit Combe Martin which boasts a pretty harbour and sheltered sandy bay with a 17th century inn, post office, bakery and a selection of independent shops. From here the South West Coast Path also offers walks with breath taking views and enthusiastic walkers can head out towards the expansive surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. A short drive away, the traditional Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe offers a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as traditional amusement arcades, cinema, Landmark Theatre and Damien Hirst’s ‘Verity’. Other attractions include Lynton and Lynmouth, Exmoor National Park, Watermouth Castle, Lee Abbey, The Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Exmoor Zoo and The North Devon Farm Park.

Stepping inside this delightful property you will immediately find yourself in a spacious hallway which firstly leads into the lounge/kitchen/diner. Here cosy sofas sit in front of a Smart TV, Blu-ray, Bluetooth sound bar and wood burner (all logs included); and a set of French doors let the light in and provide access to outside. The kitchen area boasts a great selection of appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. As you venture back into the hallway and just before you head upstairs you will find that there is a separate WC located by the front door. The first floor of this lovely property has three bedrooms and these all boast a TV and consist of a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, a further king-size and a pretty twin bedroom. Finally, a bathroom with a hand-held shower over the bath, separate shower and WC, completes the offering inside the cottage.

Outside there is a patio area with garden furniture and charcoal BBQ to the rear, which provides a great venue for al fresco dining and a further small patio area to the front. Designated off-road parking for three cars is provided. For your entire holiday you will benefit from a free access pass to an array of on-site facilities including the shared indoor heated swimming pool. (Please kindly note - all site facilities open Apr - Oct (inclusive), however during Winter not all are available (please call for further information).

Starling cottage is a hidden gem in North Devon and we found it to be well equipped and just perfect for 4 adults, 2 grand kids and our dog. The well maintained jacuzzi and bathrobes were also a welcome treat, especially after our day trips. We will be booking again.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We had a hot tub which we thought was not working properly on the second night, maintenance came out immediately to sort ( turns out it was our issue, a little keen on pressing the buttons and placing it into echo mode), nevertheless it was no problem for them to sort if had bRead moreeen a genuine issue. The facilities were really good, keeping an 8 year old occupied for the duration of the stay. We will be returning soon. Hide

Everything & everyone was just perfect. The property was spacious & beautiful. It had everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable. The underfloor heating was fabulous. The bedrooms were beautiful & the beds were really comfortable. The two bathrooms & en-suite were spotless & well equipped. Starling cottage was delightful &, although in a peaceful, rural setting, was within easy reach of Ilfracombe & Woolacombe. When contacted prior to our stay, staff were friendly & helpful & quickly added stair-gate, fireguard & highchair to our accomodation. Our 3rd year back here.Cottage is clean and well maintained. Everything you could need in it, including coffee machine! Even a plug in night light in twin bedroom for the children. A real home from home. Site is perfect for young families. Absolutely perfect clean modern, well situated for woolacombe beach and coombe martin. Well equipped owners had thought of everything right down to dog welcome pack, which my puppy Hector loved.

We stayed for a long weekend and our cottage was well equipped, clean and well presented. It's location was ideal close to most areas of North Devon. On arrival to this cottage Friday 2nd October 2020, we were very disappointed to find a baby's dummy on the floor next to the leg of the bed of the master bedroom. With all that's going on with the covid 19, we were very disappointed that it was spotted & removed before our arrival.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips.
