Outstanding views across the Fowey Estuary await at this fabulous period property, with both the picturesque town and tranquil Readymoney Cove within easy walking distance.

This Victorian property overlooks the estuary and the bay beyond and is within walking distance from the town's quay, pubs, and restaurants. Readymoney Cove is within walking distance, with a sandy beach and rock pools to enjoy, or you could launch your kayak from here and explore the bay. Take a trip to Polruan on the passenger ferry or travel to the village of Mevagissey on the small local ferry. Must-see attractions during your stay include The Eden Project, Hangloose Adventures, Charlestown (one of the filming locations in the TV series Poldark), and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. For wayfarers, there are countless beaches and coastal walks within easy reach. For golfers, there are several good courses a short drive away at Carlyon Bay and Lanhydrock.

Enter this grand period townhouse into the large hallway where you can hang coats and hats. Through the first door on your left, you will enter the stylish lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area boasts stunning river views, comfortable seating, a wood burner, and a Smart TV with standard BT package; it's the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The stunning well-equipped kitchen offers a gas range-style oven and hob, dishwasher, American-style fridge/freezer, microwave, and a Delonghi coffee machine. You can also access the garden from here via the traditional stable door. Completing this delightful space is the dining area which consists of a large dining table for six; a truly delightful space to enjoy a family meal. Back out into the hallway and under the stairs is the utility cupboard with a washer/dryer. Heading upstairs, the first floor is where two of the three bedrooms are situated: a double with stunning views across the river and harbour, and a light and bright twin. Completing this floor is a shower room with a shower and WC. Heading up to the second floor via two short staircases and past the back door accessing the garden, you will find the stylish bathroom with bath and WC, and views of Fowey. Across the landing is the last of the bedrooms: a double complete with fabulous views over the River Fowey.

Heading outside from the first floor, you will find a long wooden staircase leading up to a beautiful large patio and grass area which offers a summer house and garden furniture, the perfect place for al fresco dining. To the front of the property is a small terraced area with garden furniture.

Splendid location a few minutes easy walk into the town. Excellent bakery and numerous shops & pubs all close by. Cottage is ideal for 5 or 6 and have no complaints. We arrived to find no hot water but this was fixed within an hour or so - thank you. Would definitely return.

We stayed at Portingales for four weeks and were so lucky to have good weather for almost the entire period. The house is comfortable, cosy, and well equipped, and it is located in a strategic position for the parkings, and for getting out of the town, and at easy walking distance from the shops. It has great views on the fowey river. We greatly enRead morejoyed staying in this cottage and had a very pleasant holiday. Wow! Just home from an amazing week in Fowey. Portingales is a really lovely house very clean and conveniently located for the town. Fowey is absolutely beautiful. We were there during the Royal Regatta week, but still managed to park every day in the Caffa Mill car park without too many problems. The cottage is ideally suited for the centre of Fowey (5 minutes walk) but be aware it is not ideally suited for anyone with mobility problems. The property is well equipped and was cleaned to a good standard before our arrival. Although we did have a small problem with a blind in the bedroom, this was quickly dealt with by the letting agent

We had a wonderful stay at Portingales. The location was perfect and we enjoyed walking down the road to the bakery each morning to pick up breakfast. There were always spaces in the nearby carparks and lots of lovely walks around the area. The house was beautiful with stunning river views, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. Portingales is a comfortable, well-equipped terraced house located close to the Bodinnick ferry. During our stay in late April we were able to find parking spaces in Caffa Mill car park. On street parking is restricted 24/7. The sheltered outside garden faces NE with a good view on to the estuary. Fowey centre is a short walk away.
