We really enjoyed our stay at 'Linden'. The weather was mostly as lousy as one can expect in November. But we didn't really care thanks to the amazing endless pool and the sauna. The house was very clean and the kitchen well equipped. The only thing I'd mention is that the stairs to the bedrooms downstairs are quite steep and not carpeted. So our sRead morelightly arthritic senior dog couldn't manage and had to sleep upstairs in front of the fire (not that he did mind). Hide

Beautifully converted barn conversion, very well equipped. Glorious peaceful setting with plenty of local walks - our dogs loved it! Close to the beach too, and a visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan is a must. We would certainly return to this lovely cottage.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK.
