This luxurious property is ideal for nature-lovers aching to unwind. Embraced by the wild Yorkshire moors, it is only moments away from heather-clad hills, ancient woodlands, meandering rivers and glittering lakes.

Stepping out the front door, a plethora of walks are available for two and four-legged guests to enjoy. The fantastic Blakey Ridge is 8 miles away and rewards ramblers with spectacular views, and 28 miles away you can breathe in the salty, sea air at Scarborough. Less than 10 miles, both Helmsley and Pickering offer a number of cafes and shops to peruse at your leisure. For an evening of fine wine and tantalising food, stroll the few hundred yards to the Royal Oak, a 17th century inn.

Laid out across one level, this delightful bolthole oozes peace and tranquillity. With flagstone flooring and lots of light, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has both a spacious yet inviting feel. Kitted out with a toasty wood burner and snuggly throws, many a relaxed morning and cosy evening can be spent in the lounge. Thumb through one of the magazines or find your favourite book on the shelves, a varied selection of reading materials is provided, best enjoyed with buttery biscuits and a hot cup of Yorkshire tea. If you fancy losing yourselves in a film, there is a TV and DVD in the lounge too. Backing the lounge, the kitchen/diner is a welcoming space for cooking and meals shared over a bottle of wine. The kitchen comes with a useful dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Further in the property, there is a large master bedroom with a super-king-size bed. This generously-sized bedroom is effortlessly stylish, with French-style shutters and gorgeous views over the patio and countryside beyond. The large bathroom has underfloor heating, a free-standing bath and walk-in shower.

Featuring a pretty gated patio and small garden, the property enjoys breathtaking panoramas of the paddock and North York Moors beyond. For lunches in the sun and balmy evenings, there is outside seating and a BBQ. A shared laundry room with a washing machine and dryer is also available for use.

Great Cottage very comfortable. Very well equipped for two people with dogs. Amazing Bed in Lovely Bedroom. 10 minute walk to village with reasonable Dog friendly pub.

What an amazing place to stay great for getting around but peaceful at cedar lodge. We loved every minute and we will be back. Perfect for a getaway our two dogs were very relaxed as well. Jill & Phil made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay.

A lovely compact cottage in a fantastic. Location, we had a lovely stay. The owners were extremely helpful and told us about good dog walks and places to visit with approx journey times. Even though the weather was snowy and cold for a couple of days the cottage was very cosy .

This place is magical. Weve just come back from a snuggly week in the most beautiful cottage - Cedar. From start to finish Jill & Phil were wonderful. Kitted out with everything you could need and more, and we got the loveliest welcome pack on arrival. The location is stunning, close enough to villages and towns for things to do but outside the vilRead morelage that it feels rural and private. We will hopefully be coming back to stay again. We were delighted with the lovely Cedar Cottage. Warm, comfy and in a lovely area. Views over fields from lounge window. Great bathroom/shower room. Heaps of hot water. Dogs were made welcome and enjoyed the local walks. Good time to visit the area as long as the weather is ok. Some places not open but the upside was that it wasnt too busy. Lovely Read morewelcome pack for us and even treats for the dogs. We loved lighting the wood burner of an evening and watching a film on Netflix. Hide

We enjoyed a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Gilamoor. The cottage was well set up with all amenities and Gill and Phil were fantastic. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable and we couldn't recommend the cottage and hosts enough. A beautiful holiday stay.

Lovely Cottage in a great area, We enjoyed some really good walks with our dog and it was lovely to discover the North Yorkshire Moors. The Welcome pack was a nice touch and we enjoyed meeting out hosts who were friendly and helpful. Will recommend to family and friends

Well equipped cottage, perfect for the two of us. The location was excellent, in the countryside just a short walk to the local pub The Royal Oak which serves lovely food. The property is l shaped with views down to the fields and over looking a small terrace. Very private. Would definitely recommend

A brilliant place to stay, we loved the attention to detail, amazing comfy bed, underfloor heating in the stunning bathroom was very welcome, loved watching the hares as we ate breakfast and thanks for the welcome edibles! A great base to explore the Moors and tasty Sunday Lunch at local pub! We'd love to return.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark.
