A really lovely place to stay, really high level of cleanliness which was very reassuring. The town is very picturesque, and even though was very busy we always managed to eat/drink somewhere despite most not taking bookings. Would definitely return in the future.

A lovely place to stay, very quiet and relaxing. Ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Just a short drive from the village and well placed to visit other areas ie Looe, Fowey Morrisons at Liskeard not far for supplies!

The description in the paper work I got said it was an easy walk to the nearest shops and restaurants, ok going down hill, but extremely steep coming back, my car would only get up in first gear, plus hard going for over 70s

The only thing I would moan about is the fact that I searched online for a 'Working farm' and that this place has not been one for years!! Also told 'meet and feed friendly animals' - there were none so very disappointed on that score. Why is it listed as a farm when it clearly isn't.

This property on a farm location is ideal for families with children as they can play safely and it was nice for them to be around animals. We took our 2 grandsons, 15 and 11 years old, and both had but forgot their iPads and X Boxes for a week and got back to the basics of playing outside, eg flying kites -- both want to go back there next year. ARead more very quiet and relaxing environment for the grown ups. The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly -- nothing was too much trouble for them. Hide

We had a lovely time at this cottage. We travelled with our 5 year old and 18 month old and the cottage offered everything we needed for our short 4 night break (but we could have stayed longer). Polperro was a 1 mile walk, but not an ideal route with two little ones.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
