A comfortable and cosy cottage lovingly decorated, yet still keeping many of its original features. It is tucked away in the heart of the village and is ideally located to the beach, ferry and pubs.

Nestling on the beautiful south coast of Cornwall alongside the river Fowey you will find the unspoilt village of Poluran with its traditional cafe, village shop and local pub. Take the passenger ferry to Fowey where you will find a great selection of pubs, shops and restaurants. From Fowey there are ferries which run to the nearby fishing towns of Boddinick and Mevagissey or just relax on one of the many river tours you can take. Should you prefer to explore the area on foot there are plenty of walks to be found, including the South West Coast Path. Heading further afield are the towns of Looe and Polperro with their rugged coastlines.

Approach the property up stone steps from Betty Hewans steps, into the entrance hall where you will find storage space for beach equipment or muddy boots. From here you will find the open-plan kitchen/diner with a multi-fuel stove, electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, and a dining table which seats for four – six people. Also on this floor is a separate WC. Head up to the first floor to the reading room and lounge, snuggle up on the sofa in front of the open fire and watch your favourite programme on the Smart TV.  If you prefer a bit a peace and quiet you can pick a book to read in the snug/ reading room before heading up the staircase to the second floor. On this floor are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both having views over the river. The family bathroom is also on this floor  with shower over the bath and WC.

There is a patio area to the front of the cottage with outside table and chairs for 4, the cottage is also within paces from the beach and village Quay. No private parking available. Parking is available in the nearby car parks where charges apply.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A stunning cottage, close to Polruan Harbour. The two upper floors are very comfortable and the heating is responsive and easy to use. The ground floor kitchen-diner is nice, I should imagine its very cosy with the solid fuel stove lit. The kitchen is well-equipped, with washing machine and dishwasher.

Fantastic cottage 20 m from back beach and tiny passenger ferry to Fowey, 10m to the two pubs. All the necessary household equipment, lovely kitchen diner downstairs, two small lovely lounges, great views from bedroom. Great place for a family of 4.

A fabulous cottage. Spacious, well equipped, tastefully furnished and central to the beach, ferry, pubs and shops. We loved it here and would gladly return again. Garden could do with some TLC. Otherwise, this is a perfect haven for rest, relaxation and views that feed your soul. Heavenly! A minor complaint - Keyholders were friendly but failed to Read morerespond to two enquiries I made during our stay despite assuring me that they would get back to me. Hide

Lovely property centrally located. Kitchen is a bit dark and it was just too cold the week we were there . Feeding wood into the Aga helped but there wasn't any kindling in the shop. The kitchen was well equipped though and the rest of the house was very good , excellent shower.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
