Goosefoot is a beautifully converted apartment and very well equipped in the centre of Hawkshead. We loved staying there and had a peaceful and relaxing break. We did struggle to eat out in Hawkshead as two of the pubs in the village don't serve food and one of the remaining two was booked for many weeks ahead which left only one choice. The Tapas Read morebar and village chippy were excellent and the Co-op is very well stocked. We would definitely return. Hide

Perfect location, very nice property. Unfortunately it was let down by a few small things - the heating was operated by the owner and we couldn't turn up or down, so at points we were either really cold or really hot! The bed was two single mattresses pushed together. No basic kitchen items such as salt and pepper, oil, tea/coffee ect. No hand soapRead more at the sinks, especially with covid is a necessary! We really enjoyed our stay however it was just those few minor problems. Hide

A lovely cottage, ideal for 2 people! We stayed here for a week and had such a relaxing, if quite energetic time. We stayed during the first easing of lockdown, so while the pubs and shops were open there were restrictions, such as having to eat outside, this was not a problem though as the pubs had heaters and we managed to dodge the showers. The Read morecottage itself was well equipped and the bed comfortable, it had everything needed for a weeks stay and was a great base to explore the Lakes. Hide

Goosyfoot is gorgeous! Its perfect for a romantic holiday for a couple. The location, in the centre of Hawkshead, is ideal. Loads of great walks from the door so you really dont need your car once youve arrived. There are several pubs and cafes in the village centre and a deli and a co-op a couple of steps from the door. The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark.
