Sitting on Cornwall's pretty south coast line with its clear seas, lush landscape and hidden coves you will find the tranquil village of Polruan where you can wonder the pretty streets with village shop, 2 village pubs and cafe offering traditional Cornish fayre. You are well placed for walking the many coastal paths right on the door step. The cottage is paces from the passenger ferry over to Fowey with its independent shops, restaurants and pubs dotted along the streets. While visiting Fowey, St Catherine's Castle and Readymoney Cove is a must see attraction. Slightly further afield to the east are the fishing villages of Looe and Polperro and to the west you will find Eden Project, the long sandy beach at Carlyon Bay and the historic harbour of Charlestown with its tall ships, pebbled beach and pubs.

Enter through the front door into a useful porch area, which leads through to the ground floor lounge/ snug area, with cosy arm chair and local 1800s farmhouse settle and long case clock for seating. The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
