We loved our stay at Denzils. The location was amazing, polruan is a sleepy little village with everything you need. We loved getting the ferry over to fowey most days. The drive down to polruan is tricky with very narrow single track roads and the village is on a steep hill but we didnt find this much of a problem. Id book at the pubs (including fRead moreor your 1st night) as they get very busy even in oct. We loved the views from the cottage and it had everything we needed. Would stay again for sure Hide

A beautiful location but not for those who like a lot of shopping. Great for anyone who wants to get away from high tech world. In the peak season it would be hard to find a parking place.

This a lovely cottage for a quiet, lazy getaway. The view of of the Fowey river is fantastic, and it is very easy to sit drinking coffee (or G&T) and watch the boats pass by. Polruan itself has only one shop and two pubs. Access to to Fowey by ferry is very easy and there are pleasant shops, and plentiful pubs and restaurants. But access anywhere eRead morelse is by long, windy narrow roads. The property was clean and comfortable, but there are a few things that need updating in the kitchen. Hide

I really enjoyed the fantastic view of the river and you could spend time just watching traffic move. Recommend Russell Inn kind helpful people cant say the same for Lugger. Unkind and dismissive. Be careful if you have issues walking as the hill to the car park is long and steep.

A lovely cottage on 3 floors with fantastic views from the top floor which is the lounge. Not suitable for people who aren't good with stairs! Within easy walking distance from pubs, Quay and shops. Highly recommend the regular fish and chips from the Russell pub.

Comfortable, excellent views from sitting room over the river. Accommodation should only be booked by fit and healthy people, all luggage has to be carried approx 100m, uphill from drop off; and to access your car when in the car park is 500m away up a very steep hill.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
