We really enjoyed our stay at Daisy Cottage. The view from the lounge is wonderful and a great place to while away the hours. Its a 30 second walk to the Polruan ferry which is handy for Fowey and Readymoney cove, and the sun hits the little Polruan beach at low tide in the afternoon/evening. The cottage has some low doorways and is on 3 floors whiRead morech didnt bother us. Its well-equipped and a great find for our family of four. Hide

A beautiful cottage on 3 floors living room upstairs to get most of view across the river. I'd book Luggers early if you want to avoid disappointment! Lots of thoughtful bits and pieces in cottage, fully equipped kitchen and very nice bathroom on ground floor.

Thoughtfully equipped, cosy and stylish cottage with amazing view from lounge. Warm inside despite cold rainy weather. Well set up for outdoors fans, with ground floor hall/ bottom, washing and drying facilities and nice bathroom. You need to be happy with stairs inside and the steep streets outside. All worth the trouble!

Polruan is very pretty and the cottage sits in the heart of it. Shops, pubs and ferry a very short distance away from the cottage but be prepared for a very steep walk up to the car park if you use the car park at the top of the hill. You can hear noise from the pub next door at night but it is only talking not loud music or drunken revellers. FoweRead morey is just a short ferry journey away and full of eating and drinking places. Hide

We were completely and utterly blown away by the location of Daisy cottage and by the cottage itself! After a very challenging year it was just what the 3 of us and our 2 little dogs needed. The cottage had everything that we needed and was spotless on arrival. It was so close to the centre of a Polruan that we could pop back there if we needed anyRead morething which was particularly useful with having the dogs who needed feeding. The property itself was lovely but it was very close to a pub and the noise from this disturbed our sleep on a couple of occasions. The opening hours of the pub seemed a bit anti social with noise continuing until about 1 am. Otherwise a fab property in an ideal location for walking the South West coastal path.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Amazing views from lounge window. Need to be fit as car park at the top of the hill and steep stairs in the cottage. Next to a pub, which can be noisy, but usually finished by 11.

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
