Glorious. romantic, historic hideaway cottage overlooking Fowey river and town. This was our second stay there, so that speaks for itself. Just make sure you have a small, sturdy car to get you there and you like seclusion!

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location: very good value for money. Watch out for the semi-see-through glass bathroom door with no lock & almost-completely-transparent bathroom external window blind! You'll love it (the cottage, not the internal viewing)!

The property is all it is led up to be by the photographs. Really comfortable and everything to hand. Fortunately the fine dust did not blow our way and we were lucky to see a cargo shop docking. Will definitely book again/ Hide

All in all we had a very good holiday, it's a pity I had to mention the above, because that let a very nice property down. We would go again but Hope the microwave and oven had been addressed.

Fantastic location with beautiful views from the terrace that gets the sun most of the day. We hired a boat for the week from Maurice and enjoyed exploring the area. The cottage works well for a family of 4 with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, additional toilet, kitchen, living room and laundry room. We would highly recommend!

The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
