Lovely cottage with fantastic views from all 3 floors. It was great having an on suite bathroom on the 3rd floor and another bathroom on the 2nd floor by the lounge. We went in January and the cottage was lovely and warm.

we had a great time at the cottage the views were spectacular we were very cosy and it was well equipped, but not very good for those with walking difficulties as the village is on a very steep slope also the road to the cottage is far to narrow to drive down unless you have a very narrow car so be prepared to carry your luggage

Absolutely loved this cottage, view out of all the front windows absolutely fabulous. Cottage well equipped, well kept and clean & tidy. Polruan is a friendly, cosy little town running down to the harbour (roads quite steep). People and dogs warmly welcomed in both of the pubs and the ability to take a pint out onto the quayside was a real bonus. The ancient fishing village of Polruan lies just across the river from the delightful civil parish of Fowey, a bustling picturesque town packed with quirky coastal shops, art galleries and restaurants. Surrounded by some of the region’s most enchanting countryside, this pair of Cornish cousins have a truly magical feel about them. Polruan, with its steep hill and charming cottages looking down over the pretty harbour, and Fowey with its timeless maritime charm, are linked together by the Fowey Estuary, a haven of colourful sailing and fishing boats dotted about on the water.

A short drive away are the nearby harbours of East and West Looe with their quayside restaurants, sandy beaches and wildlife boat trips. The village of Polperro, with its fascinating smuggling history and horse pulled tram is a must-see and Charlestown, with its huge square sail ships is famously known as the key filming location for the hit TV series, Poldark. Children will love winding their way through the scenic coastal landscape with the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and for those brave enough, there is ample opportunity to hunt down the mysterious beast of Bodmin Moor.

The beautiful capital town of Truro with its magnificent cathedral and wide boulevards is just over an hour away by car and the newly redeveloped St Austell, home to the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached within forty-five minutes. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside and nature reserves, lakes and rivers, the area boasts some of the best sailing and watersports in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere remote and unspoilt, but with lots to keep you busy, Polruan is the perfect choice.
