We all know that whilst we hope for a summer full of endless sunny, warm days, the reality is that Cornish mizzle is likely to set in at some point. Blue Reef Aquarium

Newquay

What better way to discover the delights of the underwater world, than stepping into the aquarium on the shores of a beautiful beach. Here, you can get close to some incredible species of sharks, turtles and colourful corals. Learn how each creature plays a vital role in the marine ecosystem. There are rockpool encounters, turtle and shark feeding sessions, octopus talks and more.

 

Eden Project

Near St Austell

The Eden Project is one of the most eco-friendly, sustainable tourism attractions in the world. Its iconic biomes are famous worldwide, and house some of the world's most exotic plants and flowers. Perfect for visitors of all ages, there are plenty of exhibitions and events to enjoy. On a rainy day, why not head to the Rainforest Biome, the world's largest indoor tropical rainforest. Here, you can explore the jungle, take a walk on the Canopy Walkway above the treetops, or discover the many fruits and plants found in the world’s rainforests. Then, head to the Mediterranean Biome where the climate is cooler, and discover more than 1,000 varieties of colourful plants. There are play areas, cafes, interactive zones, and if you're feeling brave, take an exhilarating ride on the longest zip wire in England.

 

National Maritime Museum Cornwall

Set on the harbour waterfront in Falmouth, this all-weather attraction is a great place to learn about Cornwall's maritime history. Little ones will love the Treasure Island Play Zone, and there are 15 galleries over five floors that explore every aspect of maritime culture and history, from boats to the sailors. In the survival zone, learn about the incredible survival stories of sailors, or watch the talented boat builders at work in the boat building workshop. There are numerous exhibitions on display, and at the Look Out Tower, you can enjoy views over Falmouth.

 

Pirate's Quest

Explore the myths, legends and mysteries of the swash-buckling pirates at this indoor, interactive themed attraction. Escape a shipwreck with a real live pirate, discover the underground caves, hunt for treasure, and jump aboard the captain’s ship.  With the help of theatrical actors, special effects, and detailed 360-degree sets, you’ll be transported through the history of Cornwall's pirates.

This all-weather attraction is open all-year-round and is a fun day out for all ages. Located on 111 acres of Cornish countryside, there are giant play areas, fun rides, animal encounters, outdoor undercover play, and the only 5D Simulator in Cornwall.
