Dickensian Evening, Lostwithiel

14th December

Running for 15 years, this popular annual Dickensian Evening is a fantastic way to step back in time and enjoy an authentic Christmas experience. The lantern parade kicks off the event and is led along Fore St by the Town Band and local choirs.

People at the market stalls and in the late-opening shops are dressed in traditional Victorian outfits, and there are plenty of street food vendors selling delicious culinary treats including a hog roast, hot chestnuts, hot pots and festive sausages.

Little ones will love the old-fashioned merry-go-round fairground ride in Parade Square, as well as a special Santa's grotto where Santa wears traditional green robes, rather than his more familiar red attire.

While the street entertainment stops at 9pm, the fun continues until late in the town’s local pubs.
