Skippers Rest has a charm and character all its own and it is easy to see that the owners have lavished much time, thought and expense to present the cottage in such an endearing and comfortable manner. As you arrive and open the stable door you can't help but feel at home as you enter the welcoming large lounge diner with views over the boatyard to the river. Skippers Rest is a large family cottage sleeping 8 over three floors and is accessed along the very gentle rise of East Street a few minutes from the heart of the village. Views over the river are a major feature of the property and the busy boatyard means that there is always something of interest to see.
Lounge/diner: This spacious room features a large dining table looking out on the river along with plenty of lounge seating arranged around the impressive wood burner, perfect for relaxing during the cooler months. SMART TV, blue ray DVD and WIFI.
Kitchen: At the rear of the lounge you step into the compact and well-equipped kitchen which looks out onto the patio/barbecue area, accessed via a door from the lounge, here you will find the outside utility room housing the washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. Microwave, dishwasher, electric oven and small fridge.
Bedroom 1: A light double bedroom with delightful views over the harbour with a window seat where you can while away a few hours with ease.
Bedroom 2: The second double bedroom is bright and airy with a window looking out to the patio.
Bedroom 3: A twin bedroom made for children. Fitted with bunk beds you can easily see how a young mind could transport itself into thinking it to be a sailing ship. The room has a stair gate fitted for the safety of younger members of the family.
Bathroom: A spacious family bathroom with w/c, hand basin and bath with shower over.
Bedroom 4: This spacious double bedroom is very much a room with a view. Whilst the modern en-suite bathroom with walk in shower, w/c and hand basin, the raised table and picture window looking over the river will make leaving the room a force of will. Bed side tables, TV, iPod dock, radio, chest of drawers and book shelf.
GARDEN AND OUTSIDE SPACE- The patio area to the back of the property is a large area which is a sun trap enjoying some late evening sun, so perfect for alfresco dining.
PARKING- No Private Parking available. Parking is available from the St Saviours and Quay car parks. Weekly tickets can be purchased for both car parks for £25.00.
CHANGEOVER DAY: Saturday- Arrival 4pm Departure 10am - although can be flexible out of season.
SECURITY DEPOSIT- Security deposit of £100.00 required on each let.
POWER AND HEATING- Electricity and Heating included in the rental price. Oil central heating. Multi-fuel burner in the lounge.
PET FRIENDLY- YES, accepted with prior permission. £25 per dog per booking.
BEDDING AND TOWELS- Bed linen and towels are provided. You will need to bring your own beach towels.
