This property provides a perfect getaway for couples as well as a great base for families and walkers. The village of Polruan is ideally located to explore all Cornwall has to offer. A small village with only one road in and out, which goes through the centre of the village ending on the quay where you will find the sandy tidal beach. Experience what Cornwall has to offer, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project , cliff top walks, hidden coves and beaches, fantastic sailing waters, the Screech Owl Sanctuary and Wildlife Park and the many National Trust properties and gardens.

On entering this three storey accommodation you will find two bedrooms on the ground floor, a comfortable king and a cosy twin. There is also a spacious shower room with shower and WC on the ground floor and boot room by the back door. The Washer/dryer is located in the ground floor bathroom. Take the stairs to the first floor where guests will find the kitchen and dining room. The well-equipped kitchen has a electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, where you can enjoy preparing family meals and dining whilst enjoying the fantastic river views. On this floor you will also find a spacious bathroom with a hand-held shower over the bath and WC. Going up a further flight of stairs to the second-floor guests will find the third bedroom which is a double, with partition glass door which adjoins the sitting room where you can enjoy the outstanding views across to the river to Fowey and up the river to Bodinnick or watch your favourite programme on TV (with Amazon Firestick) or use the DVD player to watch a movie.

Stepping outside to the rear of the property you will find a small private patio and lawn garden. there is a pathway and steps which lead up to the parking area suitable for 2 medium sized cars

 Out of season under occupancy discounts are available for parties of 2 or less where no other discounts apply.

  • Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.
  • Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.
  • There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars.
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

A beautiful house in a great location. The kitchen is well equipped and the views from the other floors are amazing. The only downside are the steps down from the parking space are very steep and quite slippery on a wet day. Also if you choose to stay at Christmas like us I suggest you take your own decorations as the one foot high tree left for usRead more was very underwhelming. These are two very minor negatives though and as long as you are generally fit and active this is a great place to stay. Hide

Lovely, warm and comfortable. Plenty of space and gorgeous, always interesting views from the windows of ever changing harbour scenes! Garden is properly enclosed so great for our little terrier, although next door neighbours and their dog have access through the garden (they were very friendly but this may not suit all holidaying dogs). Fantastic, well equipped property with a superb view. Having parking was a massive bonus, not many properties in the village do. Board games and books a-plenty too. Polruan is a lovely village with 2 pubs, a bakery, little cafe and well stocked convenience store. River Watch is a superb, well equipped property. Its location close to the harbour which gives access to the facilities of Fowey via foot passenger ferry and the Pubs and convenience shops of Polruan is brilliant. River watch was a delightful house with brilliant views over the estuary from the middle and top floor. It was warm and cosy with bags of hot water and a good shower. The rooms were spacious with plenty of seating and we loved the open plan kitchen/diner. All in all a great place.

Great view and location. Tight parking but doable. Well equipped cottage. Lots of books,maps and games at the property. Excellent heating for colder months. The house and its views were great. It felt more like a home than a holiday rental, which is what we like. It was very relaxing watching the boats on the estuary; although the weather was fine and sunny, we didn't use the garden because we preferred looking at the views from the front. Lovely view from lounge / dining room. Mattress in ground floor double needs replacing. Both bedrooms ground floor damp. Grill on oven doesnt work. Baking trays need replacing - had to clean before use. Carpets throughout need a deep clean. Cobwebs throughout house. Black mould in ground floor shower. Once again a brilliant stay at River Watch. The property has the most amazing views of the river and surrounding areas. It has parking comfortably for two vehicles (a lot of local properties do not have any) and the cottage itself is so well equipped with literally everything you can imagine. Polruan is a special place and the cottage was located in one of the most perfect spots overlooking the harbour. The living space was good for the 6 of us and all the bedrooms were a decent size. It is the amazing, almost panoramic, harbour views from the living/dining room and from the top floor sitting room that set this house apart. From White House to Bodinnick, and the hills beyond. The house is very comfortable with really good sofas. This is a lovely house in a brilliant position with fantastic views. But please be aware of: 1) Follow the travel advice given not your Sat Nav 2)Follow the instructions to get to the cottage very carefully, any mistake takes you down very narrow roads. 3) My BMW 5 series just fitted with some rub marks from the hedges and took up the two parking sRead morepaces. 4) The garden has steep steps, and the Neighbours have access through the garden to their property which made it awkward with our dog. Just returned from a week in River Watch. What a view! I could not stop looking out at the water and the daily activities. Very calming. We loved our stay and have no complaints. Lovely and well equipped house. All the modern facilities you would wish for plus more. Strongly recommend this property. Views up the river are amazing. I would stay here again and cannot think of any way it could be improved.
