The Old Bakery as its name suggests, is an
architect designed house converted from Polruan Bakery, which closed after
over 70 years in April 2002. The conversion was
completed in July 2004. It is situated at the bottom of Fore Street,
behind the owner's house, one minute away from the shops, pubs and quay.
The entrance to the property is up five steps ( behind the telephone box)
to the entrance hall with a cosy DOUBLE BEDROOM on the ground floor
leading off this. There are two windows in this room.
Five slate steps lead up to the next floor
where the SHOWER ROOM with shower, hand basin, toilet and shaver point is
located. Also on this floor is the open plan KITCHEN with electric oven and hob,
microwave, fridge freezer, washer/dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with
table/chairs, and catering equipment for four people. There are recessed lights
in the passage way, kitchen and shower room.
Another five slate steps lead up to the LOUNGE, (mezzanine floor) with railings,
which has partial views across to Fowey and up river to Bodinnick. A light and
airy room furnished with two sofas, television, video and D.V.D. player, coffee
table, plus books and games for rainy or lazy days. Lots of daylight also
provided by velux windows in the roof space.
Five steps from here lead up to the twin
bedroom, once again with a mezzanine floor finished with railings, velux windows in the roof space and spotlights.
