There is always a wealth of events and activities going on in & around Fowey & Polruan.  Not only are there many events that take place on our doorstep but we are ideal placed centrally to take in the many sights and events throughout Cornwall

 

Lostwithiel Festival  12th & 13th May A festival of music, arts and theatre events with indoor and outdoor crafts and antiques' stalls. Featuring live music from lunchtime till late, street theatre, children's events and activities, as well as stalls featuring quality arts, crafts and antiques. Daphnie du Maurier Festival  10th - 19th May Once again you can enjoy an entertaining and sparkling 10 days of Star Names, Drama, Music, Talks, Concerts, Guided Walks, local events and Free entertainment. Set in Fowey, overlooking the picturesque Fowey Estuary, and neighbouring towns, the Festival is one of the most popular of its kind in the UK. "Sunnyside" Festival 18th & 19th May

The very first Sunnyside festival takes place 18th & 19th May and aims to continue the themes and spirit of the du Maurier festival, but will be Polruan's very own celebration of the arts  All the events will take place in and around Polruan, with the village and river as the back drop you can expect a very enjoyable few days.

This 3-day event features over twenty arts-orientated events ranging from music, art, theatre, song, dance, food, readings, talks & personal appearances.  There will be daily events in and around the village and in addition free lunchtime concerts, something for everyone!

A festival marquee will be erected on the coal wharf and will be the venue for many of the events & performances that run throughout the day and on into the evening.

Fowey Mussel Fest

ON THE 23RD JUNE 2012

Promising seafood, sea, food, sun & fun

The first Fowey Mussel Fest will be centered on Town Quay in the centre of Fowey. The main part of the Quay will be covered, planned attractions are cooking demos by local chefs on stage, champagne tasting and oysters by Fowey Fish, hot seafood by Sam’s and Fish For Thought, to name a few.

There will be live music on the quay in between food demos.? The Fowey Hotel will be offering cream teas all afternoon and live music on the lawn in the evening.

Gribbin daymark open day

Visible from land and sea, Gribbin Head is Fowey's sentinel. It is a striking landmark due to its red and white daymark tower. The daymark has sat upon the Gribbin since 1832, providing a navigational aid to mariners. Not far from here is Polridmouth, a lovely cove with two sandy beaches which come together at low tide. 10am - 2pm Gates open: 10am Last admission time: 1.45pm Adult £0.50 (Non- National Trust members)

The Olympic torch passes through On Day 1 the torch will leave Lands End and pass through South East Cornwall. Route details to follow.

The Royal Cornwall Show Wadebridge

For three days each year the showground at Wadebridge is transformed into a living town, bustling with life, energy, agriculture, entertainment and trade.  Well over 110,000 people visit the show each year so the showground has to be able to cope. That’s why the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association continually invests in new and improved facilities. The biggest and the best. The place to be seen! Polperro Arts festival  16th - 23rd June Location - Big Green, Polperro, Cornwall. PL13 A week-long free event comprising of live music, arts, crafts, street entertainment and fun for all the family plus much much more. Fowey Royal Regatta & Carnival Week   19th - 25th August The Fowey Royal Regatta is hailed by many as one of the best local regattas in the country and is usually held over the third full week of August. Along with daily sailing races there are a number of other themed events mixed into the week including a midweek Carnival, Red Arrows display and ending with a spectacular Firework display over the harbour. Polruan Regatta  27th August

A massive day in Polruan events start from early morning with sailing & swimming races, games for the children during the afternoon on the coal wharf.  The traditional 'ball run' is great fun which proceeds the carnival & prize giving (we won the traders competition last year), the whole event is great fun for all and concludes with an open air disco on the coal wharf!!   For further details contact Lynn Bartlett (Chairman) on 01726 870536

South East Cornwall Walking Festival  15th - 21st September Once again this year we hope we have put together a varied and enjoyable festival of walks. All walks leaders do this for free but we do ask for a suggested donation of £4 per person towards either costs or the organisers charity of choice.

Fowey Christmas Market - Town Quay, Fowey Live music and dance around the town, mulled wine, chestnuts etc. all creating a really festive atmosphere.  Over 60 traders in 3 heated marquees on Town Quay and in the Town Hall plus the many places to eat and drink around the town make this a Christmas Shopping experience not to be missed.
